Description
Jushi Aimono, also known by his MC name 14th Moon, is a significant character in the HYPNOSISMIC franchise as a member of the Nagoya Division team, Bad Ass Temple. At eighteen years old, he stands at 185 centimeters and balances a life as both a high school student and the vocalist for the visual kei band ArgoξOrchestra. His appearance is striking and meticulously styled, featuring a long black wolf-tail mullet with vivid yellow highlights, his bangs often sweeping over his right eye to reveal electric blue eyes with a notable hot-pink highlight. His look is completed with numerous ear piercings, black-painted nails, and a wardrobe that blends gothic and military aesthetics, including a gray parade coat with wine-red lining and a silver chain choker. True to his artistic persona, his Hypnosis Microphone takes the form of a crushed black-and-red umbrella adorned with a gothic pig figure, a tribute to a cherished item, while its speaker unit resembles twin tombstones engraved with Rest In Peace.
At his core, Aimono is defined by stark contradictions between his public performance and private self. On stage, he adopts a grandiose, almost theatrical persona, speaking in an archaic and self-aggrandizing tone while using the pronoun Ware. In everyday life, however, his natural demeanor is considerably more reserved, polite, and prone to vulnerability. He is frequently described as a crybaby, easily moved to tears under stress or emotional duress. This sensitivity is a direct result of a deeply traumatic past; as a student, Aimono was the victim of ruthless bullying. The anguish of this period was compounded by a horrific event in which bullies, led by a former friend named Fuuri Iyogi, caused the death of his beloved grandmother. Aimono was driven to the brink of suicide before being saved by Hitoya Amaguni, a lawyer who had advocated for him and would go on to become his hero and mentor. In the aftermath, Aimono adopted his flamboyant, narcissistic stage persona as a form of armor, actively rebuilding his identity to overcome the weakness he felt defined him.
Aimono's primary motivation is a commitment to the mantra given to him by Hitoya: Never, never, never, never give up. He strives to cultivate unshakable inner fortitude, training rigorously under his teammate Kuko Harai to conquer his emotional fragility and find his authentic voice. This drive to grow and prove his resilience is central to his role in the story, as he fights alongside Bad Ass Temple in the Division Rap Battles. His relationships are paramount to his development. He views Hitoya Amaguni with profound respect and gratitude, often following him around and treating him as an ideal to emulate, though Hitoya sometimes finds this irritating. With Kuko Harai, their dynamic is more abrasive but equally formative; Kuko acts as a strict mentor who pushes Aimono relentlessly, using a keisaku (a wooden stick used in Zen meditation) on him during training, yet this tough love has forged a genuine mutual respect between them. Outside of his team, he shared a bond with his late grandmother, who gave him a stuffed pig named Amanda that remains his most treasured confidant and symbol of resilience. The trauma of his past also creates a complex emotional tie to his former bully, Iyogi, for whom Aimono still feels a sense of remorse despite the suffering inflicted.
Aimono's journey is one of continuous, hard-won development. He actively works to transform himself from a victim of trauma into a person of strength and determination. This process is not linear, as he still grapples with his crybaby tendencies, but his resolve only deepens. He has learned to channel his pain into his art and his rap, resulting in a rap ability simply named Courage, which is said to summon his inner fortitude for self-healing and amplified power in battles. His development is also reflected in small details, like his dedication to weightlifting to build physical as well as mental strength. A Gretsch White Falcon guitar in his possession, formerly owned by Hitoya's deceased brother, serves as a powerful tribute and a reminder of the suicide he himself contemplated, motivating him to honor life and the people who saved him.
