Description
Elfuda arrives from another world as a light elf—a fit and skilled archer. Her life shifts dramatically upon discovering french fries, which she reveres as sacred. This addiction causes significant weight gain, particularly around her abdomen, trapping her on Earth. An interdimensional portal demands her precise original weight for return. She enlists Tomoatsu Naoe, a Smiley Boar massage therapist, for dietary guidance and exercise. After shedding sufficient weight to journey home in Chapter 46, Elfuda succumbs to renewed cravings, rapidly regaining mass. Realizing she can repeatedly lose weight through Naoe, she chooses to stay on Earth, accepting cyclical fluctuations.

She possesses blonde hair, blue eyes, pointed elf ears, and a plump physique from her sedentary habits and diet, with weight concentrated around her belly and thighs. Elfuda favors casual T-shirts displaying eccentric slogans about potatoes, oil, or calories—phrases like "I Love Oil" or "Calorie Love" that attract notice. Her manga design evolves toward a more Rubenesque form in later chapters.

Her personality blends enthusiasm and laziness. She exhibits lively curiosity about human culture, especially junk food, yet avoids sustained effort—particularly dieting. Mischievous and impulsive, she mocks others' eating habits while ignoring her own and relapses into fry binges. Prejudiced against dark elves like Kuroeda, she hurls insults like "immoral" or "sneaky." Despite this, a frenemy dynamic emerges; they collaborate grudgingly against shared threats. Stubborn and prone to deflecting criticism, she occasionally acknowledges Naoe’s guidance, comparing it to her mother’s.

Defying her physique, Elfuda retains remarkable elven agility, executing precise archery and evasive maneuvers during fights like her brawls with Kuroeda. She collects twigs for woodworking and empty fry boxes, reflecting dual interests in elven traditions and human indulgences. A strict vegetarian save for beef-tallow-cooked fries, she makes this sole exception.

Relationships balance humor and tension. She relies on Naoe for weight management, respecting his expertise despite resenting restrictions. With Kuroeda, species rivalry sparks physical clashes, yet they unite against foes like the satyr Satero. Her warrior aunt Oeda visits to retrieve her but extends her stay after gaining weight from soft-serve ice cream. Elfuda interacts with other mythical beings in Naoe’s circle—including the orc Oku and cyclops Hitome—often bonding over shared dietary struggles.

Her development centers on reconciling identity with her new life. She transitions from viewing Earth as temporary to embracing it as home, accepting that weight cycles need not sever ties to her world. Later arcs show recurring challenges, like succumbing to temptation during an Onsen feast with Satero, leading to rapid gain and subsequent loss. These cycles reinforce her dependence on Naoe and Earth’s conveniences, highlighting her adaptability in balancing elven skills with human vices.

Trivia includes her catchphrase "I eat French fries just for this!" and exaggerated vitriol when describing Kuroeda. When flustered, she exhibits rhotacism, mispronouncing "R" and "L" sounds.
