Description
Kaede Midorikawa launched his career as a top performer at the ALICE host club. There, he met regular client Kouji Shigemoto; their discussions about the kaii calamity and a deceased magical girl involved led Midorikawa to leverage his hosting network to contact a suspect. This collaboration forged their partnership and resulted in co-founding Magilumiere, where Midorikawa managed marketing and advertising.
During Act 2, he infiltrated Magilumiere as a double agent for Kamakura, deliberately undermining the company. This colder facade was a prearranged strategy with Shigemoto designed to protect colleagues. Following Magilumiere's dissolution via a false flag operation at Tokyo Bay, Midorikawa returned to Kamakura to gather intelligence. Working under his former employer's surveillance, he contributed to designing the RABBIT system.
Midorikawa presents a professional and approachable demeanor, favoring formal attire for client readiness. He consistently exhibits kindness and encouragement towards colleagues, bringing food for Hitomi Koshigaya and offering support to Kazuo Nikoyama. Though his double agent act masked this warmth, his core loyalty emerged when he sacrificed himself to shield coworkers. He later expressed deep emotional vulnerability, openly weeping during their rescue mission. Akane Makino noted this experience increased his approachability.
Physically tall with short brown hair, his typically closed eyes radiate cheerfulness. During his hosting days, he sported long hair featuring a dyed strand and wore ear piercings. After Magilumiere dissolved, he joined AST alongside other former members.
Key relationships include his friendship with Shigemoto, whom he treats as an equal despite their professional hierarchy. He understands Koshigaya's preferences and frequently provides her snacks. For Nikoyama, he offers supportive encouragement. His dynamic with Mei Tsuchiba shifted significantly after recognizing her sincerity during a mission, leading him to adopt a protective stance towards her.
Trivia notes reveal his stage name "Kaede" derives from the Slam Dunk character Rukawa Kaede. He possesses multitasking and video editing skills and is a dedicated Slam Dunk series fan.
