Description
Tarō J. Suzuki is a 28-year-old editor for a science magazine specializing in supernatural phenomena. He possesses the unique ability to perceive spiritual entities and paranormal events unseen by others, which frequently involves him in unexplained incidents. His primary ambition is to retire from editing and become a househusband, leading him to persistently seek romantic partners through Nancy's matchmaking service, though these attempts invariably fail.

Tarō displays a lazy and avoidant attitude towards work, often found lounging in the "Rock" coffee shop beneath his office. Despite this general lack of motivation, he exhibits compassion, particularly towards spirits burdened by unresolved emotions, such as helping the apparition of Yasuko, a young woman killed by a lake creature. His relationships form a found family with coworkers: Jiro Tanaka, a 10-year-old assistant with healing abilities; Saburo, Jiro's Afghan hound who understands human speech; and Catherine Sue, the magazine's editor-in-chief who later becomes an antagonist.

A core aspect of Tarō's existence is his link to the ancient Mo Continent and its Motarian people. Physical contact with artifacts called MOParts, specifically being struck on the head by one, triggers his transformation into a Motarian form resembling a muscular anthropomorphic tiger with rainbow-colored hair. These transformations initially cause amnesia regarding events experienced in his beast form. A distinctive circular mark resembling the character "お" on his forehead serves as the activation point for his transformation and signifies his Motarian heritage.

Throughout his experiences, Tarō evolves from a reluctant investigator into a more proactive protector, especially after uncovering Catherine's manipulation. Her betrayal, aimed at collecting MOParts to raise the Mo Continent and activate the doomsday weapon Ra Mo, forces him to confront her directly alongside Jiro and Saburo. This culminates in a final battle where he unexpectedly manifests energy-based fists to defeat fused adversaries working for the rival White Pegasus Company. Following the resolution of Catherine's plans and the prevention of humanity's eradication, he continues working at the magazine, now carrying psychological trauma from the conflicts but remaining dedicated to investigating new mysteries concerning ancient civilizations.
