Ariki carries a Rotom Phone with a blue case and enjoys sweet candies resembling Meowscarada's Flower Bombs. An unnamed older brother features in his backstory, influencing his approach to Pokémon battles.

Characterized as hard-working and passionate about battles, Ariki frequently challenges Gyms and seeks strong opponents. He initially demonstrates arrogance, particularly following losses, and struggles with frustration upon defeat. This trait surfaces prominently in his rivalry with Nemona; a significant loss leads him to blame his Pokémon partner, Meowscarada, creating tension between them. Meowscarada consequently leaves his side temporarily, prompting Ariki's self-reflection.

His development focuses on recognizing the vital importance of mutual trust with his Pokémon. During a rematch against Nemona, Ariki recalls his original bond with Sprigatito (Meowscarada's pre-evolved form) and regrets his prior behavior. This realization triggers Meowscarada's spontaneous return mid-battle. Together, they demonstrate synchronized strength, Terastallizing to fight Nemona as equals. Though Ariki ultimately loses the battle, the experience solidifies his maturity. He shifts focus from victory alone to valuing partnership, later offering a sincere apology to Ohara for a prior outburst during a collaborative project.
