Description
Shuto Kirishima is a second-year transfer student from Osaka and the left-handed ace pitcher for the powerhouse Hyoga High School baseball team, also referred to as Hikawa High. He stands 178 centimeters tall with striking blue eyes and blue hair that falls to his ears. On the field, he wears the number one jersey and uses an Under Armour glove.

Outwardly cool and sly, Shuto maintains an easygoing demeanor defined by a strong focus on humor. He frequently jokes with and teases his teammates, often targeting Hironobu Makita for failing to meet his comedic standards. This habit earns a mixture of respect and nervousness from the team’s younger members. Though he displays pronounced confidence and pride during games, he seldom reveals his deeper emotions.

His past is marked by a fraught relationship with his younger brother, Natsuhiko Kirishima, a fellow ace pitcher from Osaka. While on the same youth team, Shuto held the number one jersey but consistently pitched in his brother’s shadow. Their relationship fractured when Natsuhiko challenged Shuto on the meaning of being an ace. Shuto’s inadequate response caused his brother to lose faith in him, creating a lasting rift. This event motivated his move to Tokyo, where he secured and has held the uncontested ace role.

As a pitcher, Shuto is crafty and aggressive, commanding sharp fastballs and a diverse array of breaking balls. His confidence grows under pressure, making him especially effective in critical situations. He is also a powerful hitter and regularly bats third in the lineup.

His relationships are dominated by the unresolved conflict with Natsuhiko. On his own team, his interactions are characterized by his joking manner, particularly toward Hironobu Makita. His family consists of his father, mother, and younger brother.

Within the narrative, Shuto serves as a key player and emotional anchor for his team, valued for his skilled pitching and composure. The ongoing tension with his brother remains a central element of his storyline.
