Description
Shun Tokinoya is a 17-year-old high school student. Three years prior, an accident killed his father and left his younger sister Mio with a disability requiring his help for mobility. He quit competitive gaming despite his passion and skill, dedicating himself to supporting his family. He works part-time at the esports café "FOX ONE," run by his childhood friend Nozomi Inatsuki and her father, funneling all his wages to household expenses.

When FOX ONE faces crushing debt, Shun reluctantly rejoins competitive gaming as part of Team Fox One to win prize money from the "Xaxxerion Championship" and save the café. His return to "Xaxxerion" forces him to confront unresolved trauma and reconnect with his former gaming alias and rival, "Bakuretsu-kun" – later revealed as his childhood acquaintance, popular actress Yū Saegusa, who played anonymously alongside him before the accident. He recruits teammates Akito Sendō, Ryūsei Nagamine, and Yū, though he initially opposes Akito's romantic interest in Mio.

Shun's motivations evolve. Initially driven by debt repayment and family duty, he later pledges to fund Mio's rehabilitation after discovering her disability is psychologically rooted; she had recovered physically but subconsciously avoided walking to maintain his care. This leads to a pivotal agreement: if Team Fox One wins the tournament, Mio commits to rehabilitation; if they lose, Shun leaves the family permanently. This decision strains his relationships, particularly with Nozomi, who criticizes its unilateral nature.

Shun navigates external pressures: academic struggles, exhaustion from balancing work and gaming, and rivalry with Mutsuki "Rox" Naitō, the ace of rival team Sleeping Owl. Rox challenges Shun's focus on Mio, arguing it hinders his pro potential. Despite conflicts, Shun's perseverance leads Team Fox One to tournament victory. This fulfills his promise to Mio, motivating her to walk again. The win resolves the café's financial crisis after Yū publicly reveals her dual identity, securing sponsorship from her agency.

Shun's journey concludes with a renewed commitment to professional gaming, signifying reconciliation with his past and acceptance of his role supporting both his family and Team Fox One as they enter the professional league.
