Gyoro Gyoro acts as primary military advisor to Monster King Orochi within the Monster Association. This large, slug-like entity possesses a single prominent eye, multiple arms, and a rotund body, depicted as green in the manga and pink in the anime. It exceeds human size but remains smaller than giants like Orochi. Under combat stress, it transforms into a darker form covered in numerous eyes, amplifying its psychic power.
Strategically coordinating the Monster Association, Gyoro Gyoro oversees operations including simultaneous city attacks and hostage-taking to provoke the Hero Association. It assigns disaster levels to members, designating Dragon-level threats as executives, and enforces policies against internal killings despite monster tensions. It views lower-level monsters as expendable, occasionally sacrificing them to Orochi.
Gyoro Gyoro's true nature is a remote-controlled puppet created and manipulated by Psykos, a human esper hiding 1,500 meters underground. Psykos uses this puppet to conceal her identity while directing the Monster Association. Orochi is the only entity aware of this arrangement before its exposure, which occurs when Tatsumaki destroys the puppet.
Its key abilities include advanced psychokinesis for object manipulation, flight, and gravity amplification up to 300 times normal force. It senses biological and mechanical presences within the Monster Association's base and deploys surveillance drones. Psykos notes its enhanced durability, though Tatsumaki dismantles it effortlessly. A limitation includes difficulty multitasking psychic tasks.
Gyoro Gyoro orchestrates Garou's development, seeking to transform him into a second Orochi. It directs Royal Ripper and Bug God to test Garou through physical and psychological trauma, theorizing that surviving near-death experiences breaks "limiters" to unlock ultimate power. After Garou infiltrates the base, Gyoro Gyoro restrains him psychically and offers mentorship. Garou rejects this, leading to a battle with Orochi.
During the Hero Association raid, Gyoro Gyoro confronts Tatsumaki. Initial attacks prove ineffective. Despite transforming and intensifying gravity, Tatsumaki destroys the puppet. Gyoro Gyoro summons Orochi as a last resort, unaware of Orochi's prior defeat. Tatsumaki levitates its remains, extracts a body revealing it as a puppet, and detects Psykos underground.
The name "Gyoro Gyoro" derives from Japanese terms for "moving eyes" or "glaring eyes," referencing its visual design. In narrative function, it replaces the webcomic's Psykos role until the puppet reveal.
