Description
Ban Klondike commands the Klondike Family, Fourland Kingdom's largest mafia organization, directing thousands of members and wielding significant influence over government and law enforcement. His syndicate leverages X-Playing cards to expand operations, dismissing Pinochle's non-violent card collection as ineffective. Deep societal connections within the Klondike's upper ranks facilitate their pervasive control.

Once a noble figure fighting crime alongside Theodore Constantine Pinochle and Greg Young in High Card's first generation, Ban's descent began after the royal family covered up his father's death, erasing his existence and branding him an "Un-person." This betrayal triggered his "Start of Darkness," marked by a severe eye injury causing partial facial deformity. His ensuing ruthlessness transformed the Klondikes from honest politicians into a feared criminal empire. Despite this, he adheres to a strict personal code, refusing to harm women or children and showing them unexpected kindness. His unwavering motto is "All is for Family."

Ban wields the King of Diamonds X-Playing card, "Round & Round," granting him the power to induce rotational motion in any touched or targeted object or person. He strategically employs this versatile ability to spin projectiles, destabilize opponents, manipulate environmental elements, redirect attacks, or create rotational barriers, making him a formidable combatant who controls engagements indirectly.

His vendetta targets Fourland's royal family and High Card for erasing his father's legacy. He orchestrated the theft of the X-Playing cards from the royal castle, scattering them to incite chaos and destabilize the kingdom. This plan involved deploying mafia members to aggressively collect cards, often lethally. Ban's history intertwines with Finn Oldman's tragedy: he murdered Finn's parents and manipulated Tilt (later revealed as Finn's brother, Flann Oldman) into believing he committed the crime. This forced Tilt into the Klondike Family and implanted the King of Spades card within him, binding him to the spirit San Galgano.

Ban's relationship with Theodore is defined by mutual enmity. In their youth, Ban attempted a Heroic Sacrifice to save his father; Theodore's intervention caused Ban's disfigurement, fueling lifelong resentment. Decades later, confronting Theodore, Ban used an "X-Hand" – a forbidden multi-card technique – to reverse time and prevent Theodore's death. This redemptive act cost Ban his life; he died smiling, achieving a twisted atonement. His corpse was later desecrated by Tilt.

Ban demonstrates complex hypocrisies: decrying societal inequality while perpetuating violence, and claiming moral high ground for "greater good" objectives despite causing widespread suffering. His final arc reveals him as a Greater-Scope Villain, orchestrating events shaping the central conflict while remaining shrouded in mystery until his death.
