His survival of Lucifer’s village assault—concealed by his archangel wife Lailah—fueled Emilia’s resolve, as she believed him dead. Safeguarding a shard of the sacred sword Yesod and the sealed Acieth Alla, their adopted daughter, Nord was covertly relocated to Japan by Lailah, adopting the inconspicuous identity "Hiroshi Satou" to evade attention.

In Japan, Nord discreetly raised Acieth and another charge, Erone, embracing local customs through a fondness for historical dramas and curry—quirks met with gentle teasing. His alias, derived from a common Japanese name, masked his origins until his path crossed the Demon King Sadao Maou. Nord enabled Maou’s access to Acieth’s powers during a celestial clash, briefly sheltering in the Demon King’s fortress before Maou and Acieth departed to aid allies.
