Description
Shingo Takenouchi, a member of the Shijo Minami Middle School boys' soft tennis club, possesses disheveled short bronze brown hair and russet brown eyes. Initially defined by aggressive and openly disrespectful behavior, particularly toward Taiyo Ishigami, his demeanor gradually softens into a more playful and supportive one. This transformation stems partly from his reluctant doubles partnership with Tsubasa Soga; their early friction blossoms into mutual concern and camaraderie. Shingo's growing empathy is evident when he defends Yu from bullies and comforts Tsubasa after an injury.

His protective nature surfaces decisively when he encounters Tsubasa outside practice, spotting bruises. Despite Tsubasa's attempt to flee, Shingo insists on helping, involving his own father to secure medical care. Later, seated together on a bench, he offers comfort as Tsubasa reveals his abusive father.

Shingo maintains a close bond with his younger sister, An, and his family includes both parents. He views the world through a "Solitary Us vs Them" lens, instinctively dividing people into trusted allies or potential threats. He fiercely defends those within his "Us" circle, like stepping in when outsiders harass Yu, yet rarely shows aggression toward those outside it. His loyalty to the soft tennis club is unwavering, and he readily integrates new members like Maki Katsuragi and Yu into his trusted group once they join the team.
