猪名寺乱太郎, usually called Rantaro, is the central character of the anime Nintama Rantarō. He is a ten-year-old boy in his first year at a ninja academy, assigned to class one Ha and living in the school dormitory. He comes from a family with a long history of low-ranking ninja, a lineage often described as hereditary third-rate or plain ninja. His father works as a ninja while also supporting the family through farming, and his mother is a former kunoichi, a female ninja, who has retired from active duty.
