Description
Ryoga Jasei began as a student and president of the Second Blood club at Shadowverse Battle College, inheriting the role after intimidating the previous president into stepping down. Disillusioned, he abandoned both the school and his club, leaving Second Blood inactive. This period forged his cold, detached demeanor, marked by disdain for those who enjoyed Shadowverse and a singular focus on crushing opponents through merciless tactics. He even spurned his Digital Friend, Demonium, dismissing the creature as insignificant data and ordering it away, reinforcing his belief that only strength mattered.

A shift started when Itsuki Mitsutagawa returned Demonium and challenged Ryoga's callousness. Though Ryoga defeated Itsuki, deriding him as a "spoiled brat," he privately acknowledged Itsuki as an "interesting noise," the first crack in his facade. Orchestrated by Mikado Shirogane, Ryoga represented Second Blood in the Shadowverse Club Tournament. His loss to Itsuki there deepened his respect for the duelist and subtly altered his view of meaningful competition.

Initially dismissing the Shadowverse World Ranking despite high potential, Ryoga was provoked into battle by Wolfram Zerga, reigniting his competitive drive. He defeated Wolfram but collapsed afterward, prompting Demonium to summon Itsuki for help. This led Ryoga to enroll in the World Ranking, where he rapidly ascended to 2nd place. Confronting Wolfram again within the Shadow Area during the Seven Shadows Arc, Wolfram nearly won and attempted disqualification. Facing defeat, Ryoga realized his true motivation was the exhilaration of battling strong opponents, win or lose. Demonium's evolution into Demonium, Crush Devil secured victory, forcing Ryoga to acknowledge Demonium's worth and apologize for his past neglect.

In the final conflict against the Arc Ruler's Shade invasion, Ryoga defied Genesis Corporation directives, operating independently and refusing the Nexa System. Later recruited by Mikado for a high-stakes duel against Himmel in the Sky Tower under life-risking rules, Demonium evolved again into Demonium, Ultimate Devil, ensuring their survival alongside Garuel, Seraphic Shine. Ryoga then supported Light Tenryu in the conclusive battle against Wolfram Zerga; when Light activated Proof of Truth's effect, Ryoga contributed Demonium, Ultimate Devil to clear a path for Light's victory. After the world's salvation, he accepted the Arc Ruler's offer to erase memories of their heroism to maintain anonymity. Yet, he later visited Shadowverse College to observe Light and Mikado's duel, revealing a lingering connection to the community he once spurned.

Personality-wise, Ryoga exhibited cruelty and emotional detachment, evident in his initial treatment of Demonium and dismissal of others' passion. He frequently employed classical music terminology in his speech, reflecting an appreciation for symphonic metal. His Bloodcraft deck specialized in achieving the Wrath state via controlled self-damage using cards like Demon Maestro and Ambling Wraith, supplemented by healing and Drain effects from followers such as Devilish Flautist to sustain defense during aggression.
