Description
Rustica Ferch is a wizard from the Western Country who travels the world with his disciple, Chloe, searching for his lost bride. Much of his past is forgotten, including details about his family and the bride he seeks, though hints from wizards and humans suggest a noble, aristocratic background.
He presents as an elegant yet leisurely gentleman with short, dirty blond hair and soft blue eyes. His typical attire includes a red turtleneck, black pants, and a white coat featuring a furred collar. He accessorizes with a golden pendant and small studded earrings, bearing his wizard crest on his throat.
Rustica possesses a laid-back, carefree personality. Polite and considerate, he is also notably forgetful and incapable of self-care, relying entirely on Chloe for daily support. Trusting and naïve, he is easily manipulated yet remains warm and approachable. His gentlemanly manners, likely from his aristocratic origins, make him particularly gentle towards women. Despite misfortunes, he maintains optimism and a belief in a happy future. An eccentric trait involves him frequently mistaking people or animals for his bride and attempting to confine them in a birdcage, requiring Chloe's intervention.
His past intertwines with the Western royal family. He developed a romantic relationship with Princess Aria, the publicly recognized heir. Her hidden twin sister, Zara, a witch, grew resentful of both. Disguised as Aria, Zara evaluated Rustica as a suitor and approved the match, but her jealousy led her to curse Aria. This curse transformed Aria into a monster if she harbored negative feelings toward Zara or if the curse was lifted. The tragedy fueled Zara's guilt, driving her to manipulate Western politics covertly as atonement.
In Part 2.0 of the main story, Rustica is appointed Conductor of the Western Country. Zara, disguised as Princess Liliana, ascends the throne as queen and isolates him in the castle. Her actions aim to destroy the Sage’s wizards and the Great Calamity, partly to protect Rustica and atone for her past.
Rustica’s magic enables him to transform wizards with weaker magic into birds. Confirmed transformations include Chloe, Arthur, Shino, Heathcliff, and Lennox. He is acquainted with the Western royal family and occasionally receives invitations to perform for them. Payment requests are sent to his bank due to his constant travels and lack of permanent address; he habitually pays with the first coins he retrieves from his purse.
Visual depictions show him in multiple outfits: his default attire, sleepwear, training wear, and formal attire. Event-specific outfits include "Noble’s Cooking Intuition" and "Drowsy Morning Sapphire." Anniversary artwork spans from the 1st to the 5th year.
