TV-Series
Description
Mashiro Nakanishi is a blue-haired, blue-eyed high school girl sporting very long twintails secured with yellow scrunchies. Her standard uniform includes a white short-sleeved shirt, blue necktie, blue pleated skirt, white knee-high socks, and black loafers. Her personality radiates energy and enthusiasm, often translating into significant physicality during tasks. She defaults to brute force over subtlety, ripping apart puzzle rings that required delicate unlocking or employing methods like flamethrowers to resolve situations.

An unexplained ability allows her to retrieve large or improbable items directly from her uniform, such as stunt mats, flamethrowers, marbles, and even a bazooka, a defining trait repeatedly referenced. Her background includes combat training under a man known only as "Coach," depicted in flashbacks as a large, dark-skinned figure wearing sunglasses. She sought out Keiichiro Nagumo after finding an old flier for his detective agency, inspired by his high school detective reputation. Assisting him on a case led Nagumo to reluctantly accept her as his apprentice.

Mashiro frequently references detective media and television shows, incorporating Gratuitous English into her speech during comedic moments. Her methods often trigger chaotic results, like accidentally destroying a Yakuza office while removing a bee nest, prompting low-level member Taro Nezu to quit and join the agency. She also captured a real ghost after a client admitted fabricating a haunting.

She develops a rivalry with Yuu Asunaro, another aspiring detective who admires Nagumo's past work. During a puzzle ring challenge, Mashiro tore them apart physically while Asunaro used lockpicking skills. Mashiro participates in social activities like a girls' night out with other female characters, though differing personalities caused awkwardness. She adopted a stray cat named Cerberus after Nagumo mistakenly captured it for a rejecting client. Later, she returned a stolen wallet to a would-be phantom thief named Fu-chan upon seeing its meager contents and feeling sympathy.
