Description
Kyōji Narita is a 39-year-old underboss assistant in the Fourth Matsubayashi Clan, born on May 5 with blood type A. He possesses a rugged, distinguished appearance that marks him as yakuza yet remains refined and attractive, his menacing look belying a more complex nature.

In his youth, Narita lived as a kept man, relying on others before steadily ascending the yakuza ranks through steadfast loyalty and a pragmatic approach. He exhibits a strong-willed, sharp-looking demeanor that combines a fearsome presence with a caring, nurturing side. He balances cold yakuza efficiency with a trustworthy attitude, willingly setting aside his pride to achieve objectives.

Narita becomes desperate to avoid finishing last in his clan's annual karaoke competition, as the loser receives a harsh tattoo punishment. This drives him to seek singing lessons from Satomi Oka, a junior high school student and head of his school's choral club. Despite his intimidating appearance, he displays open vulnerability during training. He is determined to master X JAPAN's "Kurenai," though Oka criticizes his unsettling singing, particularly his falsetto.

He demonstrates a careful, calculating personality, avoiding smoking near Oka to prevent the student from smelling like smoke and facing suspicion. He strategically lends Oka his umbrella to ensure future meetings. He takes protective measures, hiding his yakuza associations from Oka's school and choosing a karaoke location outside his clan's territory for practice.

Within his organization, Narita nonchalantly brags about Oka to colleagues, leading to a tense situation when Oka's blunt criticism of another member's singing nearly causes violence. Narita deftly handles this enraged colleague, who is his physical and temperamental opposite, revealing a deep understanding of his comrades and a respected hierarchical position.

After an uncomfortable group karaoke session, Narita offers strawberries as a peace offering when Oka wishes to end their lessons, marking a turning point in their bond.

His backstory includes earlier yakuza associations, such as a past connection with a quick-tempered colleague who has an alcohol allergy, hinted to be the individual Oka criticized. Before the yakuza, Narita relied on others for financial support.
