Description
Honerva acts as a close adviser to Emperor Daibazaal of the Galra Empire, merging mysticism and science to engineer giant monsters called Deathblack Beastmen. These creations are deployed against the planet Altea and its defender, GoLion. She significantly influences Daibazaal's malevolent actions, including the invasion of Altea and the operation of the Galra gladiator arena. Honerva maintains a laboratory near Castle Galra where she exclusively transforms living beings into monstrous combatants.
She orchestrates numerous schemes throughout the conflict. Honerva travels to Altea to assassinate Takashi Shirogane, a GoLion pilot, by stalking and cornering him, believing his death would prevent the super robot's formation. After Princess Fala replaces Shirogane, Honerva persists using spells, poisons, plagues, and deception. Key plots include faking Fala's death to kidnap her and creating a clone of strategist Raible's deceased son to infiltrate Altean allies, leading to Lady Hys's assassination.
Honerva's relationship with the Galra royal family is complex and tragic. She is revealed as Daibazaal's mother and Prince Sincline's grandmother. Honerva expresses disdain for Sincline due to his partial Altean heritage, a result of Daibazaal capturing an Altean woman. When Sincline overthrows Daibazaal and forces him to pilot a Beast Fighter to his death, Honerva confronts her grandson in rage. During this confrontation, Sincline kills her powerful blue cat familiar, Jaga, and then kills Honerva herself. With her dying words, she predicts Sincline's short reign.
Honerva employs the cat familiar Jaga, a powerful blue beast of significant intelligence. Jaga aids her schemes, including the assassination attempt on Shirogane, before being killed by Sincline.
