TV-Series
Description
Hu Li is a high school student distinguished by his striking appearance: a left-combed hairstyle with white front sections and black back portions, rod-tipped eyes featuring hazel brown irises and gold-tinted pupils, and a prominent facial scar over his right eye surrounded by a red patch—a remnant of a severe car accident that compels him to wear a fox mask during public performances. His typical outfit includes black and red headphones around his neck and a red jacket layered over a white hoodie.

Financially strained, Hu Li shoulders family responsibilities after the same car accident killed his father and left his mother comatose. His younger brother, Hu Shi, openly blames him for the tragedy, as it occurred during an argument about Hu Li’s singing ambitions distracting their father. Hu Li internalizes this guilt, linking the accident to his aspirations and fostering persistent insecurity about his musical talent.

To support his family, Hu Li juggles odd jobs while secretly ghostwriting and performing vocals for the visually gifted but vocally limited idol Kong Que—a confidential arrangement demanding anonymity. He delivers live vocals hidden backstage without credit and independently releases original music online as "Mr. Fox," using a fox avatar. This double life unravels when an anonymous party exposes his secret, igniting central conflicts.

Hu Li’s relationship with Hu Shi remains tense, marked by Hu Shi’s resentment and Hu Li’s dutiful care, like preparing meals despite their estrangement. A tentative shift occurs when Hu Shi urges him to perform instead of waiting at the hospital during their mother’s critical health crisis, signaling partial reconciliation. Hu Li entrusts Hu Shi with their mother’s care during this performance, reflecting budding mutual trust.

His journey navigates industry exploitation, including unsubstantiated "damage fees" from Kong Que’s management post-exposure. He grapples with identity and integrity, balancing ghost contributions to Kong Que’s success with his anonymous "Mr. Fox" persona. The narrative concludes with unresolved questions about industry accountability and his professional future, leaving his path open-ended.
