Description
Ryou Shirogane, younger brother to Takashi, mirrors his sibling’s appearance with shorter hair and sharper features. Surviving Earth’s destruction and Galra captivity, he disrupts Princess Amue’s execution by Prince Sincline, rescuing her into the planet’s depths. Learning of Takashi’s murder by Honerva from Amue fractures his resolve, reforging it into a vengeful crusade against the empire.
Initially dismissive of Amue’s trauma—her father and brother slain by Galra forces—he lectures her on imperial cruelty while ignoring her grief. Forced collaboration erodes his rigidity, though a condescending edge persists. He engineers her escape, demanding she honor her lineage’s sacrifices, then joins the Golion team on Heracles.
In the final assault, Ryou infiltrates Galra territory with Amue to sabotage the Beastmen onslaught. Captured by Sincline, he impales the prince with Amue’s dagger, hurling them both through a window to their deaths. His final breath whispers peace to Takashi’s memory.
Ryou’s arc orbits vengeance for his brother, contrasting Voltron’s Sven, who embraces collective justice. Though mutual respect and unspoken attraction bloom with Amue, his purpose remains anchored in personal retribution, never fully embracing her cause of liberation.
