Description
Born in 1599 to Honerva, Emperor Daibazaal prolonged his life using flowers from Planet Amazon, securing his lengthy reign. He ascended as emperor of the Galra Empire by the early 17th century, ruling a merciless race that oppressed its own people and enslaved conquered worlds. Daibazaal's reign centered on galactic conquest, particularly targeting the Great Dark Nebula. His campaigns devastated countless planets, with survivors frequently taken into slavery.
In 1984, Daibazaal captured Planet Altea. When King Raimon and his family refused to surrender, Daibazaal ordered their execution. Only the infant Princess Fala, hidden by advisor Raible, survived. During Altea's conquest, Daibazaal took an Altean woman captive as a concubine to bear his son, Prince Sincline. This act typified his use of violence and subjugation, including the rape of enslaved women for personal or political aims. His tyranny extended to forcing slaves to fight as gladiators or be fed to monsters on Planet Galra for amusement.
Daibazaal's relationship with Sincline was defined by mutual loathing and manipulation. He sentenced General Sadak to death for failures against GoLion, permitting Sincline to reprieve Sadak only by transforming him into a Deathblack Beastman. Daibazaal later commanded Sincline to marry Princess Sahlia of Galleria to secure an alliance. Sincline refused, obsessed instead with Princess Fala. This defiance led to a duel where Sincline challenged Daibazaal and lost. Despite occasional displays of affection, their dynamic decayed into open hostility.
Daibazaal authorized multiple attempts to destroy GoLion, including assassination plots against its pilots and deploying Beastmen like Galcia and Mogyula. He exploited enslaved humans, promising freedom to a psychic Earth girl if she sabotaged GoLion. His military initiatives included developing an interstellar ion cannon, tested on Planet Mura before GoLion intercepted and captured it. After the Leo Alliance formed against the Galra Empire, Daibazaal dispatched assassins to eliminate supporting world leaders.
Daibazaal's downfall commenced when he failed to destroy the recaptured ion cannon. Returning to Galra, he was arrested by Sincline and loyal soldiers. The deposed emperor was forcibly implanted into a mechanized Beastman crafted in his image. In this form, he initially overpowered GoLion but weakened when GoLion's sword emitted a sudden energy surge. GoLion destroyed the mecha, killing Daibazaal in the explosion. His death culminated a reign marked by conquest, enslavement, and familial betrayal.
