Ikaros Much is a towering giant squid fish-man who served as an officer in the New Fish-Man Pirates before their downfall. He possesses eight arms, each pair corresponding to visible pectoral muscles on his chest, white skin, a bulbous nose, and a long beard with a mustache. Tattoos mark his topmost forearms and belly, including the New Fish-Man Pirates' Jolly Roger on his right shoulder. A round helmet with goggles conceals his hair, shaped into a spear formation as a hidden weapon. He wears wristbands on each arm, sandals, and an apron-like garment held by suspenders. As a teenager, he lacked a beard, wore a different helmet without goggles, and carried only a single pole-arm. Consuming Energy Steroids caused rapid aging, resulting in grey hair reaching his neck, an even longer beard, and extreme skinniness that stripped him of his natural strength. Ikaros habitually ends sentences with the word "Much". He adheres to Arlong's ideals, despising humans and Queen Otohime's peaceful philosophy. He participated in brutal acts like forcing Fish-Man Island citizens to step on a fumi-e of Otohime. He shows little regard for lower-ranking subordinates, attacking one with his spear for accidentally using fire near him, yet displays concern for Hody Jones during an Energy Steroid overdose. A traumatic event involving his giant squid friend Daidalos, who died from dehydration after approaching the sun, caused severe pyrophobia. This manifests as an instinctive backward curling when exposed to flames or shocking stimuli, such as Nami deactivating her invisibility. He also reacts negatively to mentions of dried squid. As an officer, Ikaros commanded lower-ranking crew members and possessed significant willpower, remaining unaffected by Luffy's Supreme King Haki. His fish-man physiology grants him strength ten times that of an average human, doubled underwater. His multiple arms enable rapid strikes, and as a squid fish-man, he generates ink to create deceptive clones. His techniques include "Ikaros no Tsubasa," involving rapid spitting, and "Ikasumi Bunshin," which produces ink duplicates. His secret weapon, "Usubon no Yari," uses his concealed hair-spear to pierce targets, claimed capable of penetrating undersea mountains. He wields eight "Dried Squid Spears," whose heads absorb moisture from pierced targets but fail against dry opponents like Brook or Franky in his exoskeleton. During the battle against the Ryugu Kingdom princes, Ikaros consumed Energy Steroids to double his strength per pill, though this reduced his lifespan and later caused debilitating aging. In his past, growing up in the Fish-Man District, Ikaros witnessed human oppression against fish-men, fostering hatred toward humans. As a teen, he misinterpreted Fisher Tiger's actions as anti-human. He later joined Hody Jones' terrorist group, targeting fish-men sympathetic to humans. Daidalos's death cemented his pyrophobia. During the Fish-Man Island Arc, Ikaros operated in Gyoverly Hills, enforcing Hody's regime by intimidating citizens. When a subordinate used fire to deter a sea bear, Ikaros reacted violently, stabbing the offender with a spear and flattening him with palm thrusts. He recognized Hody's Energy Steroid overdose and joined the officers in consuming pills to overpower the three princes. In the climax at Gyoncorde Plaza, Ikaros battled Franky but was defeated, and the subsequent effects of the Energy Steroids left him weakened and frail.
