Description
Khun Ran is a Regular from the powerful Khun Family, one of the Ten Great Families that rule the Tower. He is a direct descendant of the family head, Khun Eduan, and is the younger brother of Khun Maschenny Zahard, a Princess of Zahard and a High Ranker. He hails from the same branch of the family as Maschenny and is considered one of the most talented Regulars ever produced by that line. He was formerly a teammate of Khun Aguero Agnis and later became a temporary member of the FUG team formed around Jyu Viole Grace.

Physically, Ran is a short boy who appears quite young, with light blue hair and matching blue eyes. His typical attire consists of a dark blue t-shirt worn over a black long-sleeved shirt, paired with simple black pants. His most defining personality trait is a profound arrogance, a trait that stems from his exceptional power relative to other Regulars on his level. This often manifests as overconfidence in battle. Despite this, he is far from a simple brawler; he is intelligent, perceptive, and can quickly analyze an opponent's fighting style to exploit their weaknesses. His demeanor is stoic, and he expresses annoyance with almost everyone he meets. He has a unique, albeit humorous, classification system for people, ranking them from "slightly bothersome" all the way to "wants to kill," with no one ever falling into a "not bothersome" category. He is extremely picky about food, preferring yogurt, especially without syrup, and has a known fear of having his ears pierced.

Ran's primary motivation is intrinsically linked to his pride and his desire to grow stronger. He harbors specific rivalries that drive him, most notably with Anak Zahard and Beniamino Cassano. After close fights with both, he made it his goal to defeat them so he would never have to show his back to them again. Looking further ahead, he has decided that his ultimate goal after becoming a Ranker is to challenge and kill his older sister, Maschenny Zahard.

During the Workshop Battle arc, Ran is already a well-established and powerful Regular. He and his companion Novick are initially captured by the criminal organization FUG but are placed under the care of Jyu Viole Grace, who treats them well and removes their restraints. They become temporary members of Viole's team. Throughout the events on the Archimedes, the massive vessel hosting the Workshop Battle, Ran remains calm and observant. He is notably unimpressed by most of the battles until he sees Varagarv's brutal strength. He gets his chance to shine when he is pitted against Anak Zahard in a one-on-one match. Demonstrating both his tactical mind and raw power, he manipulates Anak's pride to force her into a reckless attack, swallows a "Redan" to massively amplify his abilities, and defeats her with his ultimate technique, the Espada de la Luz, though he deliberately aims slightly away from her heart to avoid killing her. His role in the arc solidifies his status as one of the most formidable E-rank Regulars.

Ran shares a significant relationship with his relative, Khun Aguero Agnis, whom he calls "A.A.," a childhood nickname. The two have known each other since before climbing the Tower and are on friendly terms, with Ran placing a rare amount of trust in Khun. His constant companion is Novick, whom he categorizes as "too bothersome." Their relationship is one of bickering and one-sided competition, as Novick frequently tries to challenge Ran only to be easily defeated. Despite this, they work effectively as a team, and Novick trusts Ran's judgment in combat. Ran seems to only keep Novick alive because of his cooking. He also respects Jyu Viole Grace, recognizing that their connection through Khun makes him different from other FUG members.

In terms of combat abilities, Ran was one of the top five E-rank Regulars. As a direct descendant of Khun Eduan, he possesses a highly sturdy body and is a master of electrical shinsu, earning him the classification of a Jeonsulsa. He is proficient in both the Fisherman and Spear Bearer positions, though he is considered a more skilled Spear Bearer. His signature techniques belong to the Maschenny Style, a set of lightning-based spear techniques developed by his sister. These include a long-range lightning blast called Deadly Lightning, the Eléctrica Perla which generates a large electrical spear, the Lanza de Relámpago, and his most powerful move, the Espada de la Luz, a piercing attack that is strong enough to impale multiple opponents at once but puts a heavy toll on his body, limiting it to once per battle. Another key ability is the "Redan," where he swallows a highly concentrated ball of electrical shinsu to temporarily increase his speed and strength by several times. While this allows him to overwhelm powerful opponents like Anak, it has a strict time limit, after which he is left completely immobile and exhausted. He can also generate electric storm clouds to obscure vision, a technique that is especially effective in confined spaces.
