Description
Hon Arkraptor is a Regular who enters the story during the events leading up to the Workshop Battle on the 30th Floor. His background is defined by a profound personal tragedy. He was once married to a woman from one of the 10 Great Families, the most powerful and influential clans within the Tower. Together, they had a daughter. However, his wife's family forcibly took both his spouse and his child away from him, tearing his family apart. This traumatic loss became the singular motivation for his desire to climb the Tower. He seeks to gain enough personal strength and power to prevent such an agony from ever happening again and to one day be capable of protecting those he holds dear.

In terms of appearance, Hon Arkraptor is a lean but muscular man with close-cropped silver hair and light-colored eyes. A notable feature is a golden earring he wears on his right ear, which is, in fact, his former engagement ring, repurposed as a piece of jewelry. His primary weapon is a distinctive black-and-white striped lance. This weapon has a versatile design; it can be used to fire long-range blasts of Shinsu, the Tower's mystical energy, and it can also open up to function as an umbrella-like shield.

When first introduced, Arkraptor projects a cold, pragmatic, and often antagonistic personality. Other Regulars, including Ja Wangnan and Kang Horyang, immediately sense that he is a dangerous individual. During the Last Chance test on the 20th Floor, he reveals his ruthlessness by proposing that the weakest members of the group, such as the young girl Yeo Miseng, should be voted out to increase the stronger members' chances of survival. He is not above attacking his own temporary allies during a fight and shows little concern for teamwork, which makes him widely disliked by his peers, initially even more so than the notorious slayer candidate Jyu Viole Grace. This hostility extends to Viole himself; upon recognizing Viole's affiliation with FUG, a criminal organization, Arkraptor sees him as a monster and proposes a tactical alliance with Horyang solely for the purpose of survival.

However, his character undergoes a significant transformation after he is chosen to be part of Team Tangsooyook. Within this team, the hard edges of his personality begin to soften. He evolves into a grounding presence, acting as a voice of reason and a mediator when conflicts arise among his more emotional teammates. He often takes on a responsible, almost parental role, intervening when personal feelings threaten to undermine the group's cooperation. The catalyst for this change is Yeo Miseng. Seeing the young girl fills the void left by his own lost daughter, awakening a fierce protective instinct within him. He becomes passionately dedicated to her safety, publicly claiming her as his daughter during a test and going out of his way to shield her from potential threats.

Throughout the Workshop Battle arc, Arkraptor remains an integral member of Team Tangsooyook. He participates in key events, including the Zygaena's Flower mission on the 21st Floor, where he works alongside Wangnan and urges strategic caution to preserve the team's stamina. When the team arrives at the Workshop Battle on the 30th Floor, he competes for a ticket to board the immense vessel Archimedes and takes part in the subsequent tournament-style games, standing unified with his comrades against powerful opponents. His key relationships deepen during this time; he develops a grudging respect for Wangnan's strategic mind, maintains a solid working relationship with Horyang, and his initial antagonism towards Viole gives way to a sympathetic understanding and a willingness to help him, even at personal risk. In combat, he proves to be a capable fighter, wielding his lance to fire powerful and accurate Shinsu blasts, and is considered one of the stronger members of his team.
