TV-Series
Description
Masanori Iseki is a Buddhist monk distinguished by his shaved head and perpetual black glasses, worn even in hot springs. He consistently dresses in a black suit with a pink undershirt and tie. His personality is eccentric and theatrical, marked by exaggerated entrances and inflated stories that frequently annoy others without curbing his behavior. This flamboyant exterior conceals a deeply manipulative core; he strategically drives targets to their breaking points to expose their true nature, believing human essence surfaces through adversity. He employs calculated lies about his intentions and background to gain sympathy or proximity, such as convincing Haruka to burn rival team banners for Team Daybreak's expansion under Mirei Minae.

Originally training as a monk in China during college, Masanori encountered Tohya Ebata after Tohya defeated all other monks except him. Following his own defeat, Masanori became Tohya's follower, drawn by his strength and ideology. In overDress Season 1, he accompanied Tohya and intentionally provoked Zakusa and Team Blackout by disrupting fights with loud airplane entrances. His deliberate cardfight loss to Zakusa gathered intelligence for Tohya's subsequent attack on the team. After Tohya's defeat by Danji Momoyama, Masanori abandoned him and pivoted to Team Daybreak's agenda.

During will+Dress Season 1, Masanori secretly aligned with Uniformers, recruiting powerful cardfighters for Jinki Mukae's Project Uniformers to achieve "ultimate fights." He manipulated figures like Mirei and Haruka until abandoning Team Daybreak after Mirei's loss to Yu-yu—mirroring his earlier abandonment of Tohya. His actions stemmed from personal amusement in witnessing others' corruption, not loyalty to any cause, as revealed in his final confrontation with Tohya.

In Divinez, Masanori became a "Fated One," holder of the Fated One of Taboo card, and participated in the Fated Clash. He claimed his wish was chaos, but his true goal was resurrecting Shingi Mukae. He shared history with the other Fated Ones from a childhood summer camp hosted by the Kiyokura Group, where he worked as a foraging monk. There, he witnessed Hikari Myodo being lured into ruins by Sybilt, though most attendees later forgot the events. Masanori lost his Fated Clash match against Suo Yobitsugi, reacting with unease but minimal resentment. He later resurfaced in the DELUXE tournament finals.

His cardfighting deck uses the Stoicheia nation's "Regrain" series, themed on necromancy and forbidden magic—a stark contrast to his monk identity that he described as "beautiful," reflecting his deceptive nature. The deck's avatar, Mysterious Rain Spiritualist, Zorga, symbolizes his role in exploiting vulnerabilities while posing as a subordinate.
