Description
Melpan serves as the panda mascot for the idol group Meltic StAr. She makes a brief cameo in episode 103 before her full debut in episode 104 of the anime's third season, known for ending her sentences with "~pan".
Her appearance features white and midnight blue fur, adorned with light purple hearts on her ears and distinctive upside-down heart markings beneath her eyes. In her standard mascot form, she wears light blue bottoms patterned with red hearts. Transforming into her "pretty mascot" human form reveals sharp amethyst eyes, midnight blue hair styled in curled twin-tails with buns and heart accents, and a raspberry-colored pleated dress detailed with gold and white. Her "idol mascot" form retains the amethyst eyes but showcases longer hair in loose drills, looped buns decorated with flowers and hearts, indigo heart earrings, and pale wings.
Personality-wise, Melpan is level-headed, responsible, and deeply dedicated to supporting Meltic StAr's ambitions, especially their quest for the Princess Cup. She projects a cool, occasionally arrogant exterior to uphold rivalry attitudes, though she gradually becomes more open with her emotions compared to Anna Akagi, frequently reminding herself to maintain appropriate rival behavior.
Relationships see her initially perceived as annoying by Anna, who felt Meltic StAr didn't need a mascot. However, following a pizza-making contest alongside Miracle☆Kiratts, Anna acknowledges Melpan's support and accepts her. Sara and Mel find her cute and fun from the start. As part of GOGO! MASCOTS with KiracCHU and Rabbily, Melpan initially rebuffs KiracCHU's friendship attempts due to her affiliation with rival group Miracle☆Kiratts. During a PriTama hunt in episode 105, Melpan recognizes KiracCHU's mascot determination but consciously maintains their competitive dynamic.
The name "Melpan" fuses "Meltic" with "panda", while "pan" also nods to her use of pans. She possesses both a Mascot Coord and a Parade Illuminage Coord. Her birthday is August 8th.
Melpan also appears in the virtual musical "High School! Kiratto Pri☆Chan" as part of GOGO! MASCOTS, participating in events set on a space colony and a school cultural festival focused on enhancing "Fateful Power".
