Description
Sophia, alternatively spelled Sofia, emerges in 73 BC during the Ancient Rome arc. Hailing from the Greek town of Trachia, invaded and occupied by the Roman Army, her brother Spartacus attempted rebellion but was captured and enslaved.
Her family protected the powerful Yellow Cosmos Stone artifact. Since Spartacus lacked it during the Roman attack, Sophia embarked on a mission to find him and deliver the stone. The D-Team encountered her after arriving in the past; she initially mistook their flying Backlander vehicle for a monster. Sophia informed them about dinosaur sightings near Trachia before Gabbro of the Alpha Gang tried capturing her. The D-Team drove him off.
Despite Sophia's attempts to continue alone, Foolscap of the Alpha Gang repeatedly ambushed her. Protected by the D-Team, she traveled with them towards Rome. To protect the Cosmos Stone, Zoe and Sophia carried the real artifact while Max and Rex used her bag as a decoy. Hearing rumors of enslaved prisoners nearby, Sophia left the group to investigate. Prisoners confirmed Spartacus had been taken to Rome to become a gladiator.
Sophia and the D-Team were captured by villagers planning to hand them to the Romans. They escaped when Chomp, grown to full size, intervened and convinced the villagers to release them. Infiltrating Rome's Colosseum required evading guards. While the D-Team focused on freeing the controlled Tyrannosaurus Terry, Sophia located Spartacus, who had escaped his captors. She successfully delivered the Yellow Cosmos Stone to him.
Their reunion was interrupted as the Roman dictator Sulla surrounded them, threatening Sophia. To ensure her safety, Spartacus surrendered. The D-Team covertly extracted Sophia from immediate danger. Later, amid chaos from a Yangchuanosaurus attack, the Spectral Space Pirate Shear captured Sophia. He imprisoned her in a barn and threatened her with falling swords to force her to reveal the Cosmos Stone's location. The D-Team rescued her, and they returned to the Colosseum in time to save Spartacus from the Yangchuanosaurus. Sophia fled with Spartacus as they liberated the remaining enslaved prisoners. Shear seized the Yellow Cosmos Stone during the escape. Despite losing the stone, Sophia and Spartacus committed to leading the ongoing slave rebellion.
