Prior to the main events, Sakura Chiyoda—a former magical girl who protected the city before Momo Chiyoda—sealed Joshua inside a cardboard box. This occurred approximately ten years before Yuko’s demonic awakening. His confinement prevents direct participation in his family’s lives for a significant duration.
