Momo is a penguin-like entity from Prism World, frequently mistaken for a kappa. To engage with human society, she operates through the android Chisato Ibara, designed by Rei Kurokawa (later DJ Coo). As Chisato, she assumes the form of a serious, tall woman with brown hair and yellow eyes, often concealing her true nature beneath heavy coats. Chisato owns and manages Tokyo's Prism Stone Shop.
Approximately 4-5 years prior to "Rainbow Live," Momo partnered with Rei Kurokawa, aiding his quest to become Prism King. Following Rei's retirement as DJ Coo, Momo continued supporting him while maintaining the Chisato identity. She later provided shelter and the name Rinne Ibara to Rinne, an amnesiac messenger from Prism World separated from her partner.
At the start of "Rainbow Live," Chisato opens the Prism Stone store, recruiting Naru Ayase as her assistant after observing her Prism Show talents. She also hires Ann Fukuhara as a sweets expert and Ito Suzuno as a sales assistant. Throughout the series, Chisato guides the store and her employees' development as Prism Stars, displaying traits like forgetfulness and a love for sweets.
In the movie "Prism Show Best Ten," Momo collaborates with Penguin-sensei to rank the top Prism Shows from the "Aurora Dream," "Dear My Future," and "Rainbow Live" eras, highlighting her deep connection to Prism performance history.
By the conclusion of "Rainbow Live," Momo achieves recognition across Prism World as a legendary clothing designer. Her human alias, Chisato Ibara, embodies her dual identity: "Chisato" (千 meaning "thousand," 里 meaning "village") and "Ibara" (荊 meaning "thorn"), symbolizing her protective and enduring presence in both worlds.
Within the "PriPara" franchise, Momo appears as a legendary figure, bridging the "Pretty Rhythm" and "PriPara" universes. Her legacy persists through her influence on Prism World's culture and her mentorship of future idols.
