Description
Musashi, inmate 634 of Nanba Prison, derives his name from the numbers six (Mu), three (Sa), and four (Shi). Standing above average height with a muscular frame, he has short spiky hair in red and yellow hues, cobalt blue eyes, and heat-darkened skin. A black eyepatch conceals significant scarring, including a vertical slash over his right eye from the Man with the Scar and a smaller mark near his lips. Gold hoops pierce both ears, accompanied by a left nipple hoop and collarbone studs. Black phoenix tattoos grace his shoulder blades, his nails are painted red, and he wears bandages covering his abdomen, forearms, neck, and feet beneath a red-and-black ankle-length skirt-like garment, an ID badge pinned at the upper left.

Born in Germany with an elevated body temperature, Musashi initially considered this a gift until spontaneous combustion erupted during university. Hospitalized and ostracized as an arsonist by a classmate’s rumors, he returned home to find it ablaze with his parents trapped inside. Restrained during rescue attempts, he was accused of arson by the same classmate. Another combustion during arrest caused severe injuries, leading to wrongful imprisonment for arson and murder in East Germany.

There, the Man with the Scar promised a cure but instead amplified Musashi’s combustion through experiments, granting flame control without self-harm. Discovering the deceit, Musashi attacked the Man, who retaliated with a blade-shaped shackle, blinding his right eye. The Man and associate Elf then torched the prison. Surviving, Musashi renounced humanity and swore vengeance. Transferred to another facility, he became cellmates with Jyugo. During a fire there, Jyugo—possessed by Elf—blinded his left eye, prompting another transfer to Nanba’s Building 4.

Musashi’s personality shifted from warm optimism to anxious withdrawal after his combustion diagnosis and ostracization. Post-experiments, he turned ruthless and misanthropic, fixated solely on killing the Man with the Scar. This drove indiscriminate attacks on guards and inmates, exemplified when targeting Jyugo during Nanba’s New Year’s Tournament to obtain shackles linked to the Man. Defeated by Supervisor Kenshirou Yozakura, he grew calmer and cooperative, openly sharing his past. He now displays empathy, enjoys socializing with inmates, and pursues self-improvement, though nervousness lingers in conversations.

Key involvements include the New Year’s Tournament, where his flame abilities clashed with Jyugo, triggering Jyugo’s shackle transformation. Captured, a neutralizing chip ended his revenge quest. In a monitored talk with Jyugo, he entrusted his mission to him, holding no hatred despite Jyugo’s role in his blindness—recalling Jyugo’s kindness in comparing his warmth to sunlight.

Musashi enjoys family, studying, afternoon naps, chess, collecting reference books, and hong dou tang. He dislikes malicious gossip, chocolate, and frogs.
