Description
Kautz departs his quiet village of Rubon seeking employment, conscious of his own lack of specialized skills. During his travels, he is saved from a large slime by Lilietta, a female adventurer. He later attempts to return a pouch of gold she dropped, a pursuit that guides him to an armor shop known for its revealing, high-stat equipment for female adventurers. There he learns Lilietta works at the establishment, which faces severe financial hardship due to the owner's practice of selling armor far below its value.
Driven by a wish to help, he accepts a job as both shopkeeper and bookkeeper, assuming responsibility for the shop's finances and operations to stave off its bankruptcy. His main duty involves striving to improve the shop's precarious economic condition while aiding in its daily activities.
He regularly interacts with the shop's owner, Narden, and his coworker, Lilietta, who is also the owner's daughter. He also meets various customers, including the formidable swordswoman Frealica, who takes pleasure in provoking naive reactions from him. Another notable acquaintance is Mokuku, a member of the Rabitta tribe who accompanied him from his home village and is marked by a symbol on her apron.
He is characterized as decent, conscientious, and somewhat naive, frequently responding with shock or embarrassment to the shop's merchandise and the conduct of those around him.
