Description
Maō, identified as Tamamo-no-Mae, originates from the 1968 animated film *Kyūbi no Kitsune to Tobimaru*, adapted from Kidō Okamoto’s novel "Tamamo-no-Mae". Tamamo presents herself as a beautiful maiden while secretly being a nine-tailed fox spirit. She infiltrates the Japanese imperial court, seduces the emperor, and manipulates her position to instigate widespread calamities. Her supernatural nature remains hidden until exposure by court officials. Following her unmasking, Tamamo perishes and transforms into the poisonous Sesshōseki stone, embodying her lingering malevolence and supernatural essence. The film depicts this singular narrative arc, concluding with her death and transformation.
