Description
Dante began as Dante Luther, a human scientist in the ancient advanced city of Sodom. When energy-based alien entities proclaiming themselves God invaded Earth, he resisted using experimental weapons. During this clash, exposure to God’s destructive energies fused Dante, his fighter jet, and prehistoric creatures into a permanent, massive demonic form. This body exhibits dark blue fur, bat-like wings attached to his arms, bird-like claws, three multi-pronged tails, horns, long red hair, and a preserved human face on its forehead.

After spearheading a prolonged rebellion against God, Dante was defeated and sealed within an icy Himalayan tomb. To ensure future resurrection, he severed a fragment of his consciousness, which reincarnated millennia later as Judas Iscariot and then as modern-day high school student Ryo Utsugi. Drawn by Dante’s psychic call, Ryo traveled to the Himalayas and freed the demon, only to be devoured. Yet Ryo’s consciousness overwhelmed Dante’s mind, granting him control of the demonic body. This fusion created a dual identity where Ryo initially denied his link to Dante.

Dante’s personality merges human roots with demonic existence. As Ryo Utsugi, he shows care for family and friends, especially his sister Saori (or Aya in later adaptations). When accessing Dante’s memories or transforming, he displays defiance against oppression, strategic demon leadership, and deep regret over past acts like killing his friend Zennon, who betrayed him under God’s sway. His emotional anchor is his bond with Medusa, his lover from Sodom who survived as a demon and steers him toward reclaiming his identity and mission.

Across narratives, Dante shifts from vengeful revolutionary to reluctant messiah for demons. His powers include flight, immense strength, teleportation, eye-based energy projection, and electrical tail discharges. In a human-sized transitional form—blue-skinned with antennae, facial markings, and a tail—he battles threats while navigating human society. His core goal remains dismantling God’s influence on Earth, culminating in apocalyptic fights against entities like Adam and Eve, cosmic beings forged from human vessels. Key resolutions involve accepting his merged identity with Ryo, shielding reincarnated loved ones like Olga/Aya, and leading demons to retake their world.
