Description
Maria began as the Holy Maiden of Lua, wholly devoted to the light goddess and a close ally to King Kyle. She faithfully supported both Kyle and his half-sister Illya, aiding Illya's work on protective devices against the Dark Lord's corruption. The Battle of Gallua Plains shattered this devotion when Kyle succumbed to the Dark Lord Angmund's influence and Illya died trying to save him. Viewing these losses as Lua's abandonment in their darkest hour, Maria renounced her faith in the light and embraced Leia, the goddess of darkness.

This profound betrayal transformed the revered saint into the cynical Fallen Witch. She turned against her former deity, wielding dark magic for destructive ends. Initially, she served the Dark Legion as a major threat to humanity, acting as their vanguard. Later, she pursued her own enigmatic agenda independently, operating outside the Legion's command.

Maria maintains complex ties to power and individuals. Though no longer directly serving the Dark Legion, she collaborates with high-ranking demons like Morrah, who shows steadfast loyalty despite her human nature. Her motivations remain self-directed; she manipulates others for her goals, such as advising the shattered Riheet to seek Illya's techno-magical device after Malduk destroyed his squad.

Physically, Maria presents as a woman of 25 with purple hair, yellow eyes, and distinctive markings, despite being 125 years old. Her attire typically includes a bun hairstyle, detached sleeves, gloves, a midriff-baring outfit, and a necklace.

Enduring bitterness over Kyle's fall and Illya's death fuels her actions. She actively schemed to resurrect Angmund using Kyle's body, briefly aligning with the dark wizard Malduk. Her trajectory marks a fall from grace driven by trauma and perceived divine betrayal, resulting in a morally ambiguous figure wielding manipulation and dark magic beyond conventional allegiances.
