Description
Ken Tamaki stands as the central character. A mysterious kendama-wielding assailant targeted and killed his family, making him the massacre's sole survivor. This trauma forced his flight to Hawaii, where he underwent intensive kendama training for 32 hours daily to prepare for his return to Japan. His driving motivation is confronting those responsible for his family's death and uncovering the truth behind the attack.

Returning to Japan, Ken reunites with childhood friend Tamako, who introduces him to Saori. He enrolls at Kendama Academy, immediately displaying an aggressive demeanor. Introducing himself to the class, he challenges the strongest students to kendama battles, escalating to physical confrontations when disrespected or mocked. His impulsive actions cause widespread property damage, nearly destroying the school during a clash with the classmate known as the Demon Lord.

Ken's personality is intensely determined, willing to employ violence to achieve his goals. He wields a kendama named God Red Violence, bought from a 100-yen store and used for five years. This weapon holds deep sentimental value; Ken becomes visibly distraught when it is damaged. His conflict resolution escalates rapidly, often lethally: he defeats Erika by exploiting her brain's weakness with a kitchen knife after she poisons classmates, and kicks Mitsurugi skyward to detonate a bomb strapped to him, causing Mitsurugi's death.

Complex relationships define Ken's journey. Mitsurugi begins as an adversary sent to kill him, later becoming an uneasy ally who warns Ken of threats. Tamako provides practical support, supplying replacement kendamas in critical battles. Saori serves as a romantic interest, inspiring love at first sight. Antagonists like Dark Boss and the masked organization drive conflict, culminating in high-stakes battles against multiple powerful foes, including the "Heavenly Kendama Kings."

Ken's combat style revolves around summoning mecha-like spirits through his kendama; these entities manifest in battle to execute powerful, named attacks, like missiles causing massive destruction. His reliance on God Red Violence is central. When it breaks, he struggles to find replacements until Tamako provides inexpensive knockoffs. These cheap alternatives channel enhanced power during decisive fights.

His development features shifting alliances and recurring confrontations. Former enemies like Mitsurugi and Erika occasionally assist or warn him post-battle. Ken's vengeance quest against the masked organization uncovers deeper plots, including kendama-human hybrid experiments. He faces surreal challenges: battling snowmen clones in Bora Bora and confronting a meteorite threat.

His survivor background shapes his actions: eliminating threats and protecting allies through extreme measures. His journey involves continuous adaptation to new enemies and twists, like Dark Boss's identity revelation during their final confrontation.
