TV-Series
Description
Nina, mother to protagonist Jim Button, lives with him on the island of Nandemo Land, working as a seamstress. Her sewing skills surpass ordinary craftsmanship, allowing her to weave magic into her garments. This unique ability makes her valuable to antagonists in the story.

Her life shatters when the demon Doringer orders an attack on Nandemo Land. During this assault, most adults, including Jim's uncle Lukas, turn to stone. The children transform into animals. Nina avoids petrification but is taken by Doringer's subordinate, Baron Bat, who spirits her away to Doringer's fortress.

Held captive under duress, Nina is forced to use her magical sewing for Doringer. Her primary task is creating a Cloak of Defense. This cloak renders Doringer impervious to harm while worn. Its sole vulnerability is the securing string; untying it deactivates the protection.

Nina remains imprisoned for most of the series. Her freedom comes only near the story's conclusion, secured by the successful efforts of Jim and his companions.

Available sources describe Nina's narrative role primarily through her magical sewing and her abduction serving as the catalyst for Jim's quest. Details regarding her physical appearance, personality traits, relationships beyond her bond with Jim, or significant character development throughout the series are not elaborated.
