Description
Mirei Minae, the blind heir of the Minae family in Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress, believed her older brother Nadatsugu Minae (Danji Momoyama) died, unaware he was disowned and forced to change his identity until Danji accidentally revealed himself at a festival. Publicly projecting a cheerful, idol-like image, this demeanor conceals deep emotional turmoil: an inferiority complex about her blindness, intense pressure as Team Daybreak's leader manifesting as a demanding "king" persona requiring constant strength and self-sacrifice, and private struggles with loneliness, distrust, and fear of failure that often lead her to misinterpret actions as mockery or pity. Learning the truth about Danji intensified her trauma, triggering outbursts of anger and betrayal.

Despite her blindness, Mirei is an exceptional cardfighter. She identifies cards by touch using textured stickers on sleeves and tracks opponents' moves with enhanced hearing, memorizing every card in the game while relying on an assistant to narrate gameplay. This heightened hearing overwhelms her in noisy environments, causing distress. Originally wielding a Trickstar deck, she switched to a Dragon Empire deck featuring the Armed mechanic after Danji's departure, focusing on equipping weapons to her vanguard to adapt to combat situations. Her primary unit is Sealed Blaze Maiden, Bavsargra, evolving to Sealed Blaze of Arbitration, Bavsargra Aksayya in later tournaments.

Her journey spans multiple seasons. In overDress Season 2, she challenged and defeated Danji upon reuniting, later confronting him about his identity. After losing to Yu-yu Kondo at Nagoya Castle, she underwent significant growth, realizing she need not bear burdens alone and learning to value fighting alongside others. She later participated with Team Daybreak in burning rival teams' banners but reconciled through a collective apology.

Throughout the will+Dress seasons, Mirei competed in Deluxe tournaments, ranking second in Group B (losing to Urara Haneyama) and Group D (losing preliminaries to Gui but defeating Urara). She reached the quarterfinals twice, losing to Raika Koshiba and Megumi Okura. Her storyline included distress over Danji's absence in America and training Urara to combat Uniformers. By the Divinez DELUXE Arc, she competed again, ranking first in Group A after defeating Gui, Erika Myojo, and Nao Inabe, advancing to the quarterfinals.

Her hobbies include exploring sweet treats, enjoying teddy bears and nail polish scents, and disliking loud noises. During the third Deluxe tournament, she developed an interest in "burrowing into cushions that spoil people."
