Description
Megumi Okura, a member of Team Blackout, invites Yu-yu Kondo to Dreamland Wonder Hill, triggering his first encounter with Vanguard. Hailing from privilege, she is a recognized prodigy, excelling academically, athletically, and in etiquette. Despite her background, she prizes independence, working part-time at a card shop to buy her own cards instead of using family wealth. Her personality features a notable admiration for Danji Momoyama, whom she calls "aniki," and a fierce competitive streak with an intense aversion to losing. She often overreacts, misreads situations like relationships between others, and tends to worry excessively.

Her competitive journey starts in the Deluxe tournament. She places second in Group D, losing to Michiru Hazama but defeating Haruka Soukawa and Tomari Seto. She advances to the quarterfinals, losing to Tohya Ebata. In a later tournament, she takes first place in Group C, defeating Tohya Ebata among others, reaching the semifinals before losing to Raika Koshiba. Later, in the third Deluxe tournament, she loses to Suo Yobitsugi but defeats Suzune Rokuoin. Approximately a year after joining Team Blackout, her role evolves significantly: she ascends to leadership while balancing university studies and her card shop job. Her popularity surges, spawning a university fan club, and she strengthens bonds within Team Blackout.

Her Vanguard deck utilizes the Stoicheia nation, specifically a Sylvan Horned Beast strategy designed to overwhelm opponents with multiple attacks by enabling rear-guards to strike from the back row. Centered on units like Sylvan Horned Beast Emperor, Magnolia Elder, and later Magnolia Patriarch, her ride line includes Mercy Sylvan Horned Beast, Lattice (Grade 2), Blossoming Flowers Sylvan Horned Beast, Charis (Grade 1), and Sylvan Horned Beast, Lotte (Grade 0). She continuously refines this deck across tournaments, adapting it against opponents like Shinobu Kajita, Haruka Soukawa, and Danji Momoyama, occasionally incorporating tactics inspired by rivals like the Uniformers.

Her development sees her transition from a supporting member to Team Blackout's leader, reflecting increased responsibility and maturity. This growth parallels her deck's evolution, where Magnolia Patriarch symbolizes her heightened protective instincts and proactive approach. Her journey underscores themes of perseverance through relentless training despite tournament setbacks and loyalty through maintaining deep team connections.
