Description
Schwarz Diese rules as Duke of Hybranz within the Unified Zesskia Empire, one of five key dukes rewarded with territory by Emperor Castal Harol for their role in unifying the continent. An elderly man distinguished by gray hair and a signature blue long coat, he maintains formal interactions with key figures. He discusses investigations into rogue Fairy Soldiers with Nein Auler, director of agency Dorothea, who addresses him by title despite her past service under him. He also confronts former Fairy Soldier and rebel Wolfran Row, questioning Wolfran's choices; their conversation reveals a shared outlook on pursuing their own paths, prompting Schwarz's acknowledging laughter.

Commended by Emperor Harol for saving Prime Minister Golbarn Helwise, Schwarz requests—and is surprisingly granted—a powerful Fairy Weapon as his reward. He acquires Fratanil, a shield and short sword connected by a chain, formerly wielded by Garlan Battle of the Seven Knights. Schwarz then stages an ambush on the train transporting the weapon. Enlisting mercenary Beevee Liscar, he boards under the guise of ensuring safety but sustains minor injuries during the ensuing conflict over his cloaked objective.

Schwarz later launches a rebellion against the imperial government. Exploiting secret tunnels known only to royalty—information obtained from a former royal family member—he infiltrates Rodancia's Palace to confront Emperor Harol, claiming his actions are for the emperor's own sake. However, his ally Ray Dawn, another duke and former member of the elite Seven Knights, abruptly deserts him. Ray Dawn swiftly cuts down Schwarz's men and overpowers Schwarz himself. In his final moments, Schwarz questions why Ray served Golbarn despite his power. Ray Dawn dismissively states he disliked Schwarz and executes him.

An ordinary human lacking a fairy organ transplant, Schwarz possesses no supernatural abilities or combat prowess. Though he secures the Fairy Weapon Fratanil, he remains untrained in its use, leading directly to his swift defeat and death at Ray Dawn's hands.
