Secretly, Ran acts as a mole within the ninjas, feeding intelligence to Queen Parome, the Maoh King's consort. During her time with the group, she forms a relationship with Gin, one of the Maoh King's half-human sons. Ran becomes pregnant by Dan, the ninja group's leader who believes humans are inherently inferior and deserve oppression. Her pregnancy is revealed only after Dan's death. Ran goes into labor during a clash with Genma forces and dies while giving birth to her son, Dar. Dar is later revealed as the reincarnation of the Great Genma, becoming a greater-scope antagonist. Gin mourns deeply at her side in her final moments.
