Description
Ash Clad is a fairy bound to Marlya Noel, an investigator with the agency Dorothea. This fairy takes the form of a humanoid entity whose arms radiate intense heat and whose face is a distinctive white mask. It holds the power to reduce anything it seizes into ash and to project forceful jets of flame.
Marlya Noel possesses the rare ability to summon Ash Clad directly, bypassing the need for a surgically implanted fairy organ—an occurrence without precedent. Her past is defined by tragedy as the only survivor, along with her childhood friend Veronica Thorn, of the Suna village massacre. The attacker, Ray Dawn, targeted the villagers for their natural capacity to see fairy primordials without aid. After the village’s destruction, Marlya was adopted by the leader of the Baiklay mafia and eventually joined Dorothea in pursuit of her missing friend.
Ash Clad first appeared to intervene in a confrontation between Free Underbar and Veronica Thorn. The fairy is deeply tied to Marlya’s sense of identity as a “Child of Disaster,” a perception born from a life touched by misfortune, including the early loss of her parents and the razing of her home. In Dorothea operations, Marlya summons Ash Clad during combat, though its presence often attracts considerable hostility, occasionally limiting its effectiveness.
