Description
Tanpopo, whose real name is Urara, operates as a kunoichi within the Rokki-dan faction alongside her peer Meguro under Master Sori’s guidance. Her artistic prowess exceeds Meguro’s, strategically employed to sketch reconnaissance details like Sukezane Baro’s likeness and weaponry. During Rokki-dan missions, she surveils Ugen Hanabusa’s forces to protect Habaki Kagimura’s family, sustaining shuriken wounds in an Ittō-ryu ambush until Meguro rescues her. He credits her survival to a concealed metal chest plate, wryly noting its efficacy due to her physique.
Later, the duo encounters Shira, a rogue swordsman probing for Manji’s location. Complying with Habaki’s survival directive, Meguro shares partial intel while Tanpopo stays silent. She later aids Rin and Manji’s escape from Shira’s trap, reviving Rin from hypothermia by sharing body heat with Manji in a shelter—a gesture that briefly stirs Rin’s jealousy before tensions ease.
Tanpopo’s bond with Master Sori carries subtle romantic undertones, illustrated in daydreams and omake by creator Hiroaki Samura. Her combat style embodies classic kunoichi agility and stamina, though specifics remain unelaborated. She is occasionally grouped with Hanabusa’s kunoichi under the series’ "Action Girl" archetype. Beyond primary manga and anime adaptations, her presence in spin-offs or extended media remains unconfirmed.
