Description
Hydorous is a lion-like Bakugan who primarily aligns with the Aquos faction, representing the attribute of water, though a Darkus variant has also been known to exist. He serves as the Guardian Bakugan and primary partner of the ninja-themed brawler Shun Kazami within the Bakugan Battle Planet series. The partnership between Hydorous and Shun predates Shun's departure from Japan to join the brawling team known as the Awesome Ones.
In terms of personality, Hydorous is characterized as a noble but fierce and overtly aggressive combatant. He is fast and agile in battle, described as the prince of the seas, and possesses a ruthless streak that stands in stark contrast to the thoughtful, reserved, and sometimes timid nature of his human partner, Shun. Following this event, Hydorous participates in various missions with the team, including a rescue operation to save their friend Bear from a bounty hunter named Strata. Hydorous also helps the Awesome Ones confront Philomena Dusk and AAAnimus Inc., protecting other Bakugan from commercial exploitation, and later allies with agents to battle a powerful Bakugan named Tiko to save Earth.

In a non-canonical episode focused on a dispute over a video game controller, Hydorous and a Bakugan named Dragonoid engage in a fierce brawl that results in the controller's destruction, after which they reconcile.
