Mari searches the comet and earthquake-ravaged wasteland of Kanto for her missing boyfriend, Ken, in the OVA *Violence Jack: Harlem Bomker*. She is captured by the Slum King's minions, who imprison women for sexual slavery. Mari endures brutal "training," including rape and abuse by the warlord's followers. Ken, now serving the Slum King, discovers Mari imprisoned and attempts to free her, but fails. As punishment for this failure, the Slum King forces Ken to confront and kill his enemy, Violence Jack.
