Description
Rimuru Tempest began existence as Satoru Mikami, a 37-year-old Japanese salaryman killed while shielding a colleague. Reincarnated in a fantasy realm as a genderless slime, Rimuru bonded with the imprisoned Storm Dragon Veldora Tempest—naming the dragon and consuming him to analyze his magical seal, vowing future liberation while forging an irreversible soul link.

Physical evolution marked Rimuru's journey. The slime form started as a 40-cm translucent blue sphere, expanding to 80-100 cm upon becoming an Ultimate Slime. Body Armor induced metallic sheen; Demon Slime transformation yielded silver-gold hues. Rimuru's humanoid shape mimicked Shizue Izawa's corpse, resulting in an androgynous figure with silver-blue hair and golden eyes. This form lacked biological processes like respiration or reproduction. Height advanced through stages: 120 cm during initial mimicry, 125-130 cm as a Demon Lord Seed, 135-140 cm upon True Demon Lord ascension, and 155 cm at Ultimate Slime maturity.

Personality blended Satoru's pragmatic salaryman roots—diligent, strategically cautious, and convenience-seeking—with diplomatic finesse favoring negotiation or manipulation over conflict. Yet threats to allies provoked extreme retaliation: annihilation or psychological torment. A contradiction emerged between Rimuru's benevolent ruler image and documented tactics like historical revisionism, memory alteration, and intimidation to cement control. Chronic anxiety and diplomatic naivety sometimes yielded disadvantageous terms, prompting King Gazel's counsel for greater assertiveness. Rimuru also struggled to decline requests, a flaw noted by their former human superior.

Abilities stemmed from unique skills. Reincarnation granted Predator—evolving into Gluttony then Beelzebuth—for absorption and mimicry, and Great Sage—advancing to Raphael then Ciel—for analytical computation. These enabled elemental magic like Poison Gas and Black Flame, sensory powers such as Magic Sense, and utility functions including Item Reproduction. True Demon Lord evolution multiplied magicules tenfold and conferred immortality. Later developments encompassed spatial manipulation via Teleportation and Imaginary Room, temporal control through Time Warp, and conceptual abilities like Turn Null energy and Multi-Dimensional Barrier. Naming monsters induced their evolution, though Rimuru initially overlooked its risks.

Leadership birthed the Jura Tempest Federation, a monster nation championing interspecies equality. Rimuru reigned as figurehead monarch, delegating governance to aides like Rigurd. Alliances included Veldora and Demon Lord Milim Nava; joining the Octagram followed Clayman's defeat. Nation-building leveraged Satoru's human-world knowledge, manifesting in modern infrastructure and replicated cultural elements like manga. A soul link with named followers enabled mass empowerment during Rimuru's Demon Lord ascension.
