The cat orchestrates events including gift-giving to the king and fabricating Michael's identity as the "Marquis of Carabas," falsely claiming Michael owns extensive lands and a castle belonging to an ogre. Puss-in-Boots outwits the ogre, leading to the ogre's demise, which allows Michael to seize the castle and property.
