TV-Series
Description
Designated model BP-119, Duke originated as an English police robot developed under Regina Argine's supervision. His ambulance alternate mode reflects his serial number, incorporating Japan's emergency services number (119). Regina's traumatic childhood experience, witnessing her policeman father fail to arrest her mother, led her to program Duke with an unwavering commitment to perfection and duty. This resulted in a personality marked by formality, rigidity, and adherence to knightly virtues, often embodying British stereotypes like a "stiff upper lip." He consistently addresses Regina as "Lady," reflecting their initial formal dynamic. His core traits include a strong sense of honor, loyalty, and stoicism, though this manifests as emotional inflexibility and social difficulty.

Duke transferred to Japan's Brave Police unit during a crisis following the apparent loss of leader Deckerd. His arrival sparked resistance and resentment from existing team members, who viewed him as an unwanted replacement. This friction stemmed from his rejection of emotional expression and perceived coldness. Over time, interactions with the optimistic young Yuuta Tomonaga and the team prompted Duke to develop greater emotional understanding and flexibility. He learned the value of interpersonal connections, gradually overcoming much of his early conditioning, though traces of his rigidity occasionally surfaced. He evolved into Deckerd's trusted second-in-command rather than a rival. His relationship with Regina also matured as she confronted her own past, leading to a softer dynamic.

Technologically, Duke was engineered using traits from multiple Brave Police robots: McCrane's leadership, Power Joe's agility, Dumpson's power control, and Shadowmaru's reconnaissance capabilities. His standard armament includes a police-issue revolver and a broadsword. For enhanced combat, he combines with the Fire Roader support vehicle to form Duke Fire, wielding the Fire Sword (stored in the Fire Roader's ladder, made of Bravenium Gamma metal) and the Fire Buster rifle. Duke Fire critically combines with J-Decker (Deckerd combined with J-Roader) to form Fire J-Decker. This combination carried significant risk, with only a 0.0002% chance of both Duke and Deckerd retaining their memories afterward due to compatibility issues stemming from their advanced Super A.I.

Outside duty, Duke exhibits a passion for nature, particularly marine life such as whales. Official manga material, rare and exclusive to Japan, featured Duke in storylines involving Scotland Yard Brave Police colleagues and addressed the survival of the character Kagero, providing additional context. In video games like *Brave Saga 2*, Duke Fire demonstrates abilities like healing allies and extinguishing fires, and performs combination attacks such as "Knight and Captain" with Captain Shark.
