Description
Bell Cranel hails from a remote mountain village, orphaned young and raised by his grandfather Zeus, who filled his head with dreams of heroic exploits and harems. These dreams drove Bell to Orario, where he faced multiple Familia rejections before the goddess Hestia invited him to form the Hestia Familia, appointing him its first member and captain.

He possesses distinctive white hair and red eyes, often likened to a rabbit. His attire consists of lightweight armor over a black long-sleeved shirt and black pants, covered by a brown hip-length coat featuring a black chest patch. He wears a beige belt and brown boots.

Initially shy, naive, and aspiring to be a storybook hero, Bell sought adventure partly to attract girls. This changed when Ais Wallenstein saved him from a minotaur, sparking intense infatuation. Overhearing Loki Familia mock his weakness fueled his determination to grow stronger. Bell is deeply compassionate, frequently risking his life to help others regardless of peril. This earned him fierce loyalty from figures like the former betrayer Liliruca Arde (Lili), whom he forgave, and allies such as ex-enemy Mord Latro. His trusting nature leads to exploitation, yet he rarely holds grudges. Bell struggles with deception, his transparency forcing Hestia to hide his rapid-growth skill, Liaris Freese. Conversely, he keenly perceives others' loneliness, like Lili's.

Despite frequent flustering around women, Bell possesses tenacious resolve. His unwavering feelings for Ais manifested Liaris Freese, accelerating his growth. This resolve let him conquer minotaur trauma at Level 1 and defy divine mandates to protect beings like the Xenos. Post-Level 4, he displays greater calm and seriousness, especially after losing to Asterius. He faces moral conflict interacting with sentient monsters like Wiene; guided by Fels, he embraces "hypocrisy"—killing monsters while defending those with human emotions. Romantically oblivious due to low self-esteem, he fears conceit or embarrassment, missing admirers including Hestia, Haruhime, and Lili. He rejected Syr Flova's confession out of loyalty to Ais, an act that later provoked Freya's retaliation and made him wary of rejecting others. Bell prefers bitter foods and admires blonde, long-haired elves.

His abilities include the unique skill Liaris Freese, accelerating growth proportional to his unwavering feelings for Ais, resulting in SS/SSS-ranked basic abilities (Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, Agility, Magic) at every level. This grants physical prowess exceeding his level, like matching Level 4 speed while a low Level 3. His signature magic, Firebolt, unleashes fire and lightning without incantations, learned accidentally via grimoire. The Argonaut skill charges attacks over time, amplifying damage; advanced techniques like Argo Vesta combine it with Firebolt. Development abilities include Luck (enhancing item drops), Abnormal Resistance (negating poisons/statuses), Escape (boosting fleeing speed), and Chain Attack (empowering consecutive strikes). He specializes in knife combat and possesses Ox Slayer, increasing effectiveness against bull-like monsters.

Key relationships involve Hestia, viewed as family; Ais, his unrequited love and inspiration; Lili, a trusted supporter rescued from the Soma Familia; Haruhime, a renard saved from sacrifice; and Wiene, a monster girl symbolizing his commitment to human-monster coexistence. His actions inspire growth in others: Ais trains harder witnessing his progress, Welf crafts equipment supporting his ideals, and Lili overcomes addiction honoring his influence.

Development arcs include overcoming minotaur trauma; defending Hestia Familia against Apollo Familia; rescuing Haruhime from Ishtar Familia; shielding Wiene and the Xenos, reshaping his moral framework; rejecting Syr/Freya, triggering citywide conflict; and pursuing a world where humans and monsters coexist. These experiences shift Bell from a naive rookie to a principled adventurer focused on heroic ideals.
