Description
Freya, originally Princess Flare Arlgrande Jioral, served as first princess of the Jioral Kingdom and older sister to Norn Clatalissa Jioral. Born to the king and a prostitute mother, she entered the royal family at age ten and endured harassment and bullying. Her mother's death intensified her struggle for survival. At fourteen, awakening as the Magic Hero dramatically elevated her status in the royal succession, allowing her to exile rival family members. Fear of returning to commoner life fueled an obsession with royal privilege, leading her to discard cherished mementos like her mother's harp.
In the original timeline, Flare recruited Keyaru as the Healing Hero and subjected him to four years of torture, enslavement, and sexual abuse. She drugged him into addiction, forced him to perform dog tricks for drug access, and orchestrated systemic abuse by her party members and guards. Her public persona masked her true nature: a sadistic, arrogant noble who viewed lower classes and healing magicians as subhuman. She justified her cruelty by claiming superiority, particularly over Keyaru's farmer origins.
After Keyaru rewound time, he captured Flare, drained her magic, and subjected her to physical torture, sexual assault, and psychological degradation. He erased her memories and used healing magic to alter her appearance, changing her eye color to blue and renaming her Freia. A maid's corpse was disguised as Flare to fake her death. Upon awakening, Freia accepted Keyaru's fabricated backstory that she was his lover and slave, becoming devoted to him and adopting this new identity.
As Freia, her personality shifted significantly. She displayed kindness, loyalty, and a strong sense of justice, often advocating for aiding innocents abused by the Jioral Kingdom. She formed friendships with party members like Setsuna despite previously despising demi-humans. Her memory loss resulted in naivety and loss of combat experience, requiring Keyaru to reteach spell usage. However, traces of her original personality persisted, particularly her talent for manipulation and deception, enabling her to flawlessly impersonate Princess Flare when needed.
Freia retained her abilities as the Magic Hero, specializing in high-tier offensive spells across multiple elements. Her signature abilities included seventh-tier spells like Mjolnir (massive lightning strikes), Purgatory (kilometer-radius flames), and Ice Prison (absolute zero ice cages). She possessed Hero-specific traits like unlimited level caps and double EXP gain for party members. Keyaru trained her in close combat and developed new spells such as Heat Source Detection. Her magical prowess remained critical to Keyaru's objectives, including manipulating Kureha Clyret and exposing the kingdom's corruption through impersonating Flare.
Her relationship with Keyaru evolved beyond master-slave dynamics. She developed genuine romantic feelings, often competing with Setsuna for his affection. Her devotion included accepting submissive roles, wearing accessories like dog ears, collars, and revealing outfits at his direction. Despite her altered memories, lingering traits from her past occasionally surfaced, such as disdain for those deemed inferior—though this now excluded Keyaru and their allies. She participated in Keyaru's vengeance against her former kingdom, demonstrating unwavering loyalty when confronting her sister Norn or enabling acts of retribution.
