With no owners identified, she stayed temporarily at the Minaduki residence under Shigure's supervision during an owner search. After no claims emerged, Kashou and Shigure adopted her permanently into their catgirl family.

Physically distinguished by mint-toned short hair, yellow eyes, and a height of 108cm—making her the smallest Minaduki catgirl—she consistently wears a tan-and-brown hat accommodating her ears, adorned with an orange bow on the bill. Her attire includes a white blouse and overall shorts featuring orange bows plus a pink heart-shaped pin. Estimated at three months old based on size, weight (18kg), and development, her breed remains unspecified.

Cacao exhibits minimal emotional expression and sparse speech, often limited to brief words or sentences. Her childlike traits manifest in hiding spots like toilet seats and keen environmental curiosity. Despite reserve, she forged an immediate bond with Chocola, her discoverer and advocate. Gradually, she integrated with other household catgirls, joining communal baths, meals, and group activities.

Her name originated from a pronounced fondness for cacao-flavored cake early in her stay—a contrast to her mint-green hair, which diverges from typical cacao hues. Azuki previously suggested "Sugarcane" to align with her hair color.

Cacao evolved from isolation to household engagement, sleeping in shared spaces, accepting care from Shigure and Kashou, and embracing daily routines. Though her pre-rescue history is unknown, adoption formalized her role as the seventh Minaduki catgirl. She appears solely in the anime adaptation, absent from Nekopara visual novels.
