OVA
Description
Akira, son of robotics expert and antagonist Professor Gill, carries a perilous inheritance: blueprints for the destructive Armageddon Lord weapon tattooed on his back. This makes him a target for the organizations SHADOW and DARK, both seeking to complete the weapon. Introduced alongside his protector Rieko, he flees SHADOW's forces early in the sequel OVA with the android Jiro (Kikaider). They escape to a monastery, encountering the android Ichiro (Kikaider 01) and scientist-priest Fuuten.

Rieko's pivotal guardian role is later revealed as artificial; she is a cyborg constructed by Professor Gill, implanted with another woman's memories. This truth surfaces just before her death at the hands of Gill-Hakaider—Hakaider now controlled by Professor Gill's transplanted brain.

Following Rieko's demise, Gill-Hakaider captures Akira. He is forcibly used to power and activate the Armageddon Lord, triggering massive destruction in a nearby city.

During the final confrontation, the gynoid Bijinder defects from SHADOW, moved by empathy after Rieko's death. She temporarily safeguards Akira and aids his escape from Gill-Hakaider.

After the Armageddon Lord's destruction and Gill-Hakaider's defeat, Akira is rescued. Entrusted to Fuuten—the monk-scientist who previously oversaw Ichiro and reactivated the android Rei (Kikaider 00)—Akira meets the original woman whose memories Rieko carried. This implies a transition to stability under Fuuten's guardianship.

Akira primarily functions as a plot device enabling the weapon's activation, with no detailed exploration of his personal development or internal perspective.
